About Nick Cave
Nick Cave, born on 22 September 1957, is an Australian singer, musician, and writer. He is the frontman of the band Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. Cave's music is characterized by emotional intensity, a wide variety of influences, and lyrical themes including death, religion, love, and violence. He was born and raised in rural Victoria and studied art in Melbourne. In the late 1970s, he fronted The Birthday Party, a post-punk band based in Melbourne, which moved to London in 1980. The band developed a darker, more challenging sound that influenced gothic rock and gained a reputation as "the most violent live band in the world." Cave became known for his confrontational performances, black hair, and pale, emaciated appearance. The band disbanded after relocating to West Berlin in 1982. In 1983, Cave formed Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, a band described as one of rock's "most redoubtable, enduring" groups.
In a post on his website The Red Hand Files, Nick Cave shared the exciting news that he is planning to write a new album this year.
