About Pearl Jam
Pearl Jam is an American rock band formed in Seattle, Washington, in 1990. The band was part of the grunge movement of the early 1990s and is considered one of the most influential bands from that decade. It has sold many records and is regarded as one of the most popular American rock bands of the 1990s. The original lineup included guitarists Stone Gossard and Mike McCready, bassist Jeff Ament, and vocalist and guitarist Eddie Vedder. The band had several drummers in its early years, including Dave Krusen, Matt Chamberlain, Dave Abbruzzese, and Jack Irons. Matt Cameron, who joined in 1998, was the band's longest-serving drummer until 2025. Keyboardist Boom Gaspar has performed with the band as a session and touring musician since 2002. Pearl Jam was formed after Gossard and Ament's previous bands, Green River and Mother Love Bone, disbanded. The band gained mainstream success with their debut album, Ten, released in 1991.
