Sabrina Annlynn Carpenter, born on May 11, 1999, is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. She gained recognition for her role as Maya Hart on the Disney Channel series Girl Meets World, which aired from 2014 to 2017. Carpenter signed with Hollywood Records, a label owned by Disney, and released four studio albums: Eyes Wide Open (2015), Evolution (2016), Singular: Act I (2018), and Singular: Act II (2019). In 2021, she joined Island Records and released her fifth album, Emails I Can't Send (2022), which included the singles "Nonsense" and "Feather." Her sixth studio album, Short n' Sweet (2024), reached the top of the US Billboard 200 and included the singles "Espresso" and "Please Please Please," the latter becoming her first song to top the US Billboard Hot 100. Carpenter's seventh album, Man's Best Friend (2025), also topped the Billboard 200 and featured the single "Manchild," which reached number one in the US. In addition to her music career, she has appeared in films such as Adventures in Babysitting (2016), The Hate U Give (2018), The Short History of the Long Road (2019), Clouds (2020), and Emergency (2022). She starred in Netflix films including Tall Girl (2019), Tall Girl 2 (2022), and Work It (2020), the latter of which she also served as an executive producer.
