About Waxahatchee
Waxahatchee is an American indie music project formed in 2010 by singer-songwriter Kathryn Crutchfield, known professionally as Katie Crutchfield. The project was established following the breakup of her previous band P.S. Eliot. The name Waxahatchee derives from Waxahatchee Creek in Alabama, where Crutchfield grew up. Initially an acoustic solo endeavor, the project has evolved to include recordings with a full backing band. Waxahatchee has released six studio albums: American Weekend (2012), Cerulean Salt (2013), Ivy Tripp (2015), Out in the Storm (2017), Saint Cloud (2020), and Tigers Blood (2024). The latter was nominated for the 2025 Grammy Award for Best Americana Album. In addition to her work as Waxahatchee, Crutchfield is a member of the alternative country duo Plains, with Jess Williamson, and the indie rock band Snocaps, which features her twin sister Allison Crutchfield, MJ Lenderman, and Brad Cook.
The run culminates in a headline show at London's Hammersmith Apollo.
