About This Track

A strutting declaration of sexual confidence and trouble-making bravado, 'Live Wire' finds AC/DC in full swagger. Bon Scott's original lyrics were considerably more explicit; he deliberately toned them down to secure radio play, though the track retains its sexually suggestive edge. The song announces itself through pure attitude: Scott positions himself as the answer to anyone seeking satisfaction, trouble, or a good time, the repetition of the title phrase building into a chant of self-mythologising. The band's standard set opener for years, 'Live Wire' works because it pairs the boast with genuine groove. The rhythm locks tight, the guitar cuts clean, and Scott's delivery carries enough personality and humour to prevent the posturing from calcifying into mere bombast. It's the sound of a band that knows exactly what it is: loud, menacing, and built for the stage.
