About This Track

'Back2u' by ALMA is a 2018 pop track from 'Heavy Rules Mixtape - EP'. The lyrics set a restless scene of nights out and late-hour waiting, with a speaker stuck in grind mode while looking towards someone else, caught between missing them and trying to hold on to hope. The refrain point is captured in the line, “Miss you”. There is a sense of emotional urgency underneath the flashing lights imagery, as if the cold weather and rain are just another way of saying that paradise feels far away.

"Back2u" is a track by ALMA, from the album Heavy Rules Mixtape - EP, released 2nd March 2018. The track is 3:59 long. It's filed under Pop. Full lyrics are available below. Dork has published 2 articles about ALMA.

Lyrics

Back2u

I'm here, with all the flashing lights
Bad, good nights, yeah yeah
You're there where it gets cold and rain, paradise, na na
I'm here, working the days and nights
Need the light, baby (Miss you)
I'm feeling like lose my mind, all the time

And the points of those stars are bigger
And people have fancy cars
Here Kanye plays all the rhythms
And they tell you you're a star
You'll be a star
Remember to work hard, work hard, work hard

I hope I don't make it, I do, I do
I hope I don't make it, 'cause I wanna get back to you
I hope I don't make it, I do, I do
I hope I don't make it, 'cause I wanna get back to you

I'm here, living the longest nights
Lonely life, yeah yeah
You're there with all the lovin' life, life and love, na na
I know it gets better in time, borderline, baby (miss you)
I'm feeling like lose my mind, all the time

And the points of those stars are bigger
And people have fancy cars
Here Kanye plays all the rhythms
And they tell you you're a star
You'll be a star
Remember to work hard, work hard, work hard

I hope I don't make it, I do, I do
I hope I don't make it, 'cause I wanna get back to you
I hope I don't make it, I do, I do
I hope I don't make it, 'cause I wanna get back to you

Back to you, back to you
'Cause I wanna get back to you
Back to you, back to you
'Cause I wanna get back to you
Back to you

And the points of those stars are bigger
And people have fancy cars
Here Kanye plays all the rhythms
And they tell you you're a star
You'll be a star
Remember to work hard, work hard, work hard
Yeah, yeah, yeah

I hope I don't make it, I do, I do
I hope I don't make it, 'cause I wanna get back to you
I hope I don't make it, I do, I do
I hope I don't make it, 'cause I wanna get back to you

Back to you, back to you
'Cause I wanna get back to you
Back to you, back to you
'Cause I wanna get back to you
I wanna get, I wanna get
I wanna get back to you
I wanna get, I wanna get
I wanna get back to you
I wanna get, I wanna get
I wanna get back to you
