About This Track

'Fun While It Lasted' by Ashe is an alternative track from the album 'Rae', released in 2022. The lyrics track a post-show, post-romance drift, with the singer driving alone and crying all the way home, holding on to the memory of something that felt close to love, then admitting it did not take. There is a bitter repetition in the wording, the line “It was fun” returning like a refrain that cannot soften the letdown. The imagery of the empty glass seals the emotional balance, a joke that never quite lands and a belief that only lasted for a moment.

"Fun While It Lasted" is a track by Ashe, from the album Rae, released 13th October 2022. The track is 2:26 long. It's filed under Alternative. Full lyrics are available below. Dork has published 1 article about Ashe.

Lyrics

Fun While It Lasted

So I'm driving alone
Crying all the way home empty handed
Was a hell of a show
I should laugh but the joke never landed
The wind in my hair
For a second there, I almost believed in love

It was fun
It was fun
It was fun
While it lasted

While it lasted

It's an empty glass
It's a stone cold shot in the darkness
'Nother story you've heard
'Nother girl walks into a bar
When I caught your stare
For a second there, I almost believed in love

It was fun (it was fun)
It was fun (it was fun)
It was fun
While it lasted

While it lasted

It was fun for a while
We had so many dreams
Love is so out of style
What the hell did we think?
Oh-oh, I almost believed in love

It was fun (it was fun)
It was fun (it was fun)
It was fun
While it lasted

While it lasted
