Lessons

[Chorus]

Had to learn a little bit, grow a little bit

Realize on the way up

That I was taught so many lessons

Yeah, yeah, I learned so many lessons, yes

I'm living proof that if you don't go through shit

When you come up fast

Everything that you work for won't seem to last

Man, I learned so many lessons

Yeah, I learned so many lessons, yes

Learned so many lessons

[Verse 1]

Every day that you wake up (Wake up)

Make sure you pray before startin' your day 'cause (Day)

Tomorrow ain't promised (No)

Today is a gift, so don't waste it away

Call and tell someone you love 'em

Show somebody that you been thinkin' of 'em

It ain't about romance, it could really be your last chance

Turn off your cellphone (Oh, oh)

Give yourself sometime to think and be alone

How can you be about your business

Followin' niggas with no business

So many people in show business got nothin' to show for it (No, no)

Write out your dreams and just go for it (Go for it)

Fill up your pitcher before you can pour from it

[Pre-Chorus]

Always listen to your first mind

Never tell no one, it's your time

'Cause the spectators watchin' you grind

Really hopin' that you don't get more shine than 'em

Those kinds of friends are really your enemies

All of these little philosophies

Took a minute to get into me, and that's 'cause

[Chorus]

Had to learn a little bit, grow a little bit

Realize on the way up

That I was taught so many lessons

Yeah, yeah, I learned so many lessons, yes

I'm living proof that if you don't go through shit

When you come up fast

Everything that you work for won't seem to last

Man, I learned so many lessons

Yeah, I learned so many lessons, yes

Learned so many lessons

[Verse 2]

You know the ones who really down for you

Are the ones who feel you when you down

Look out for them niggas who playin' on ya

Loyalty ain't nowhere to be found

Fuck with no one who's afraid of

Callin' you out on your bullshit

That's the ones who showin' real love

That's the niggas you can build with

Always keep your word (Oh, oh)

Only thing you really got here on this Earth

Don't let no one treat you less than what you're worth

Being selfish ain't the same as puttin' you first

That's the first law of nature (Oh)

Survival of the fittest (Oh)

Know that your haters love to hate you

Really don't matter what it is

[Pre-Chorus]

Always listen to your first mind

Never tell no one, it's your time

'Cause the spectators watchin' you grind (You grind)

Really hopin' that you don't get more shine than 'em (Them)

Those kinds of friends are really your enemies (Enemies)

All of these little philosophies (Yeah)

Took a minute to get into me, and that's 'cause

[Chorus]

Had to learn a little bit, grow a little bit

Realize on the way up

That I was taught so many lessons

Yeah, yeah, I learned so many lessons, yes

I'm living proof that if you don't go through shit

When you come up fast

Everything that you work for won't seem to last

Man, I learned so many lessons

Yeah, I learned so many lessons, yes

Learned so many lessons
