About This Track

'Whole' by Basement is a 2012 indie rock track from the album 'colourmeinkindness'. The lyrics move through a tense, pleading loop of release and reassurance, with the speaker urging someone to say they still want them, even as the song pivots into a cycle of being told lies, then demanding sight or clarity. A line like “Deep inside this hole” frames the emotional geography as claustrophobic and inward, while the repeated insistence on what the other person claims to feel keeps the tone volatile and raw.

"Whole" is a track by Basement, from the album colourmeinkindness, released 22nd October 2012. The track is 3:11 long. It's filed under Indie Rock. Full lyrics are available below. Dork has published 7 articles about Basement.

Lyrics

Whole

Let it out
Tell me what you want me to hear
Push it out
Tell me that you still want me here

Deep inside this hole
I will offer you my soul
Waiting, hoping with each breath
That you will leave it in my chest

Lie to me, lie to me
Make me see
Lie to me, lie to me
Make me

See

Deep inside this hole
I will offer you my soul
Waiting, hoping with each breath
That you will leave it in my chest

Lie to me, lie to me
Make me see
Lie to me, lie to me
Make me
