About This Track

'Monsta' by BENEE is an alternative track from 'Stella & Steve - EP' (2019). The lyrics cast a restless, sleep-deprived narrator under escalating threat, describing a creeping physical unease, a shadowy presence in the night, and a fearful, questioning sense of being targeted. The imagery turns from jittery dread to a direct confrontation with something seen just outside the window, ending on anxious uncertainty about what it wants. The phrase “Something doesn't feel right” sets the tone for a night of fright.

"Monsta" is a single by BENEE, from the album Stella & Steve - EP, released 15th November 2019. The track is 3:42 long. It's filed under Alternative. Full lyrics are available below. Dork has published 10 articles about BENEE.

Lyrics

Monsta

I'm tryna fall asleep
Something doesn't feel right
A chill crawls up my skin
A tinglin' down my limbs
The shadow in the night
My God, it gave me such a fright
I see him standing right outside
His face is red, his eyes are white

What is it that he wants from me?
Maybe he just feels lonely
What is it that he has in mind?
Why has he come here at this time?

A monster takes me away
From my safe space
Into the night
The monster takes me away
From my safe space
Into the night

Wake up in a magic cave
Here's me trying to be brave
But then instead of eatin' me
He offers me a blueberry

What is it that he wants from me?
Maybe he just feels lonely
What is it that he has in mind?
Why has he come here at this time?

The monster takes me away
From my safe space
Into the night
The monster takes me away
From my safe space
Into the night

The monster walks me to a pot
It seems like time is all I got
He puts my head inside, I'm not ready to die
Instead of burning out alive, I see my room, flames rising high
He wasn't tryna hurt me, was only tryna save me

The monster takes me away
From my safe space
Into the night
The monster takes me away
From my safe space
Into the night
