Released through Republic Records on 15 November 2019 as the third and final single from Benee's second extended play 'Stella & Steve', 'Supalonely' pairs the New Zealand singer with American artist Gus Dapperton. The track also appears on Benee's debut studio album 'Hey U X', released the following year. The song adopts the voice of someone stuck in self-recrimination whilst an ex moves on, the narrator cycling through bathtub tears and ceiling leaks, calling herself a quitter and worse. Dapperton's bridge shifts the perspective slightly, his verse built around a refusal to engage with romance at all, the boogie staying restless even as he dances alone. The production wraps the wallowing in upbeat pop, the contrast between lyric and tempo doing most of the work.
"Supalonely" is a track by BENEE, from the album STELLA & STEVE, released 15th November 2019. Full lyrics are available below. Dork has published 14 articles about BENEE.
