About This Track

‘Limelight’ by Blusher is a 2023 pop track from the EP ‘Should We Go Dance?’. The lyrics put a bright, almost private focus on a person who makes “everybody else” fall away, turning a public scene into a personal moment. There is an eye-level sense of awe, with drifting street imagery and a rush of attraction framed as teenage feeling, backed by a heartbeat that races, in an attraction that is close but not quite the other person’s.

"Limelight" is a track by Blusher, from the album Should We Go Dance? - EP, released 12th July 2023. The track is 3:01 long. It's filed under Pop. Full lyrics are available below. Dork has published 8 articles about Blusher.

Lyrics

Limelight

'Cause when I see the light
In your hair
Everybody else here disappears
The whole crowd
Is just background
You're the only reason I came out

Drifting past the parked cars
Catching my reflection
I have a teenage feeling
I have a heartbeat speeding
Not quite yours and not quite brave enough to tell you
That I want to be
Waiting 'til my glass is empty

'Cause when I see the light
In your hair
Everybody else here disappears
The whole crowd
Is just background
You're the only reason I came out
So meet me in the limelight
So meet me in the limelight

Breathe deep breaths
Not weightless, yeah
But I can taste it
'Cause when you look at me
There's a rip in the solar system and the room starts spinning
I've been dizzy for you the whole night
Meet me in the blur of the limelight (blur of the limelight)

'Cause when I see the light
In your hair
Everybody else here disappears
The whole crowd
Is just background
You're the only reason I came out
So meet me in the limelight
So meet me in the limelight

It's ten to midnight
And you look so gorgeous
All the planets are aligning for us

'Cause when I see the light
In your hair
Everybody else here disappears
The whole crowd
Is just background
You're the only reason I came out
So meet me in the limelight
(So meet me in the limelight)
So meet me in the limelight
(So meet me in the-)
('Cause when I see the-)
