About This Track

'I Keep' by BROODS is a 2022 pop song from the album 'Space Island'. Over a repetitive sense of insistence, the lyrics find the narrator returning night after night to an empty hope, pressed up against something scorching, thinking it might be love. The refrain turns the act of holding on into a kind of self-encouragement, capturing the tension between wanting a person and realising there is nobody at the centre, as the line “I keep” keeps repeating.

"I Keep" is a track by BROODS, from the album Space Island, released 18th February 2022. It's filed under Pop. Full lyrics are available below.

Lyrics

I Keep

[Verse 1: Georgia Nott]

What did I think I'd find?

When I do this every night (Every night)

Pressed up against the flame

Thinking it's someone to love

I'm burning for no one

But still, I keep

[Chorus: Georgia Nott]

I keep, I keep, I keep, I keep

I keep, I keep, I keep, I keep

Kissing electricity

Feels like the real thing to me

I keep, I keep, I keep, I keep

I keep, I keep, I keep, I keep

Finding myself on the floor

Still I keep on coming back for more

[Verse 2: Tove Lo, Tove Lo & Georgia Nott]

Golden glow keeps me up

I can't hold back from love

I don't know where I'm going

So caught up in the moment, hey

[Pre-Chorus: Tove Lo, Tove Lo & Georgia Nott]

Used so much strength to get closer to you

If you won't let me then what will I do?

I wish it wouldn't hurt so bad

I know you drive me mad

But still, I keep

[Chorus: Georgia Nott, Tove Lo]

I keep, I keep, I keep, I keep

I keep, I keep, I keep, I keep (Keep on)

Kissing electricity (Electricity)

Feels like the real thing to me

I keep, I keep, I keep, I keep

I keep, I keep, I keep, I keep

Finding myself on the floor

Still I keep on coming back for more (For more)

[Bridge: Georgia Nott]

(I keep, I keep, I keep, I keep, I keep, I keep)

Kissing electricity

[Chorus: Georgia Nott, Tove Lo, Both]

I keep, I keep, I keep, I keep

I keep, I keep, I keep, I keep

Kissing electricity (Kissing electricity)

Feels like the real thing to me (Feels like the real thing to me to me)

I keep, I keep, I keep, I keep (I keep)

I keep, I keep, I keep, I keep (I keep)

Finding myself on the floor (On the floor)

Still I keep on coming back for more (Still I keep on coming back for more, yeah)
