'Wrong' opens with a single word repeated four times, then unfolds as a catalogue of misalignment. The song builds its argument through accumulation: wrong signs, wrong houses, wrong roads, wrong timing, wrong chemistry, wrong genes. Each verse adds layers of self-diagnosis, moving from circumstance to biology to intention, until the distinction between accident and essence collapses entirely. The repetition becomes almost hypnotic, the word itself losing meaning through sheer frequency.
What emerges is less a confession than an inventory of failure. The lyrics suggest someone for whom wrongness feels constitutional rather than circumstantial, baked into the fundamental architecture of existence. By the final verses, the song has cycled back to its opening premises, but the weight has shifted. "Too long" interrupts the pattern, a phrase that could mean the wrongness has lasted too long, or that the song itself has dwelt too long in this space of self-recrimination. Either way, the effect is one of exhaustion rather than resolution.
