About This Track

Dixie addresses a pattern of emotional manipulation and half-hearted pursuit over a propulsive beat. The song opens with the familiar ache of wondering what might have been, then pivots sharply into frustration: the narrator's mind knows better, but her heart hasn't caught up. By the chorus, that frustration hardens into clarity. She names what he is and what he isn't, repeating the title like a mantra of refusal. The second verse sharpens the picture. She's exhausted by the asymmetry of it all, worn down by sleepless nights and wasted emotional labour on someone she describes as a liar. The bridge strips away any remaining ambiguity, moving from heartbreak into direct dismissal: stop asking for nudes, stop sliding into her messages, stop assuming she owes him anything. The song ends where it began, but the tone has shifted entirely. What started as longing becomes rejection, stated plainly and without apology.

"FUCKBOY" is a single by Dixie, released 14th May 2021. Full lyrics are available below.

Lyrics

FUCKBOY

[Verse 1]

I'm caught up in what could've been

Thinking 'bout what you shoulda said

Wonder what's going through your head

Wonder who's sleeping in your bed

My mind knows you don't care (Don't care)

But my heart just won't listen

I thought you'd always be there (Be there)

But you were gone in a minute

[Pre-Chorus]

I'm tired of not being happy

And you always thinkin' you have me

But the only way that you have me

Is so fucked up

[Chorus]

You're just a fuckboy

You're just a fuckboy

That's not enough, boy

You're just another motherfuck boy

'Cause you're just a fuckboy

You're just a fuckboy

That's not enough, boy

Don't need another motherfuck boy

Another motherfuck boy

[Verse 2]

And why am I still stuck on you (Stuck on you)

When you're just stuck on her?

Why'd I try to fuck with you? (Huh?)

Now I'm just fuckin' hurt (What?)

And I'm tired of being so damn tired

'Cause I stayed up all night crying 'bout a piece of shit ass liar

And I'm tired of being so damn tired

'Cause I put in too much energy just tryna fuel this fire

[Pre-Chorus]

Tired of not being happy

And you always thinkin' you have me

But the only way that you have me

Is so fucked up

[Chorus]

You're just a fuckboy

You're just a fuckboy

That's not enough, boy

You're just another motherfuck boy

'Cause you're just a fuckboy

You're just a fuckboy

That's not enough, boy

Don't need another motherfuck boy

[Bridge]

You think that you're the shit

But no one's into it

Stop asking me for nudes, no, I'll never send those to you

And get off my Instagram, who do you think I am?

Get out of my DM's

And take off those damn Jordan's

'Cause you're just a fuckboy

You're just a fuckboy

No, ooh, woah, oh, oh-oh

Don't need another fuckboy (Hahaha, 'cause fuck)

[Chorus]

You're just a fuckboy

You're just a fuckboy

That's not enough, boy

You're just another motherfuck boy

'Cause you're just a fuckboy (Boy, yeah)

You're just a fuckboy (You're just a fuckboy)

That's not enough, boy (That's not enough, boy)

Don't need another motherfuck boy

[Outro]

You're just a fuckboy

You're just a fuckboy

That's not enough, boy

You're just another motherfuck boy
