Doe B confronts loss and contradiction on 'Why', a track that moves between personal grief and existential doubt. The song opens with a litany of unanswered questions: the deaths of friends since childhood, the incarceration of loved ones, the persistence of pain. These are not rhetorical flourishes but the substance of the track, each repetition of the title phrase deepening the sense of bewilderment at a world that keeps taking. The hook settles into a refrain of accumulated hurt. Doe B moves from specific losses to broader anguish, the cold of the world itself becoming another kind of violence.
