About This Track

A two-part declaration of intent, produced by Rich Kidd. Drake moves between boastful assertion and strategic positioning, staking claims on the rap landscape whilst still operating outside the major-label machinery. The first section is pure appetite: he wants altitude, clout, money enough to absorb mistakes. He references his earlier life as a child actor and his current unsigned status with equal candour, treating both as stepping stones rather than liabilities. The second half shifts register. An introductory spoken passage frames the track as a formal welcome to what he calls Comeback Season, then the verse tightens into wordplay and competitive jabs. He works through internal rhymes and double meanings, keeps the tone cleaner than the opening stretch, and positions himself as the city's property. The song turns on a simple hinge: the first part shows hunger; the second shows he already knows how to win.
