About This Track

'Too Deep' finds dvsn in the grip of unexpected intimacy. The track moves between vulnerability and desire, with Daniel Daley's voice pitched low and intimate as he traces the moment two people realise they've fallen further than either anticipated. There's no resistance in it, only the acknowledgment that pulling back is no longer an option; the couple have arrived at a place where they belong, and the prospect of losing it is unthinkable. The production, handled by Nineteen85, sits in the pocket between R&B restraint and late-night confession. Daley repeats the central refrain with a kind of resigned acceptance, each iteration settling deeper into the groove. The song reads as a duet between two people who've stopped pretending their connection is casual, who've admitted that what's happening between them has become something neither wants to undo.

"Too Deep" is a track by dvsn, from the album SEPT. 5TH, released 2nd December 2015. Full lyrics are available below.

Lyrics

Too Deep

[Verse 1]

I won't make you pull out

Getting it all tonight

All that I want

I just wanna go down (Oh)

In history how you like

Wanna be the one

As the one who makes you comfortable

'Cause your lips, they got me feeling very vulnerable (Yeah)

The way that you speak to me, freak with me gives me a rise, yeah

[Chorus]

And I think we're

In too deep

Don't wanna pull out

And I think we're

In (In) too (Too) deep (Deep, baby)

Don't wanna (Yeah) pull out

[Verse 2]

Don't you make me pull out

We're right where we're supposed to be (Ooh yeah)

I just wanna go down

You know what you want from me (Yeah)

And I just wanna be clear

We're doing right, what we're doing works (Feels like I'm almost there, oh yeah)

Yeah, the way that you speak to me, freak with me gives me a rise

[Chorus]

I think we're

In (In) too (Too) deep (Deep, baby)

Don't wanna pull out

I think we're

In too deep, baby

Don't wanna pull out (Oh, oh, no)

[Outro]

Oh yeah

Oh yeah

Oh, I wanna know
