'Fantasy' finds DyE wrestling with the gap between ambition and reality. The French musician constructs a landscape of failure and self-deception: walls too high to scale, the moon as witness to private fears, the golden gate perpetually out of reach. Against this backdrop, he cycles through a posture of resigned defiance, taking things "in vain" and faking his way through again, streaming wasted dreams to Tokyo stock tickers as if they might somehow matter. The song's emotional core lies in its repetition. A refrain about sending the heart away "like heroes in the rain" accumulates weight through sheer insistence, each iteration deepening the sense of sacrifice and loss. DyE's production holds the vocals in a cool, measured space, letting the lyrics breathe without melodrama. Guillaume Teyssier collaborated on the lyrics, and the result is a track that treats fantasy not as escape but as a kind of necessary fiction, something you perform because the alternative is unbearable.
