Certainty

I know nothing can stay the same

Everything alters

I know time is the open flame

Openly leaving

Keeping our ear to the receiver

Reaching for certainty

To keep you safe now

The swell, the ache

The wave that breaks

The light, the call

The clock face

Still I try to hold it close

To grasp and keep the turning world from turning

And isn’t that the point anyway?

To be changed?
