Lyrics

2008*

[Lyrics from Snippet]

[Verse 1]

It's a Friday night on a time squeeze

Working on a beat and biting teeth

Well, don't get mad at me

It's just a dream

I bet my entire life on three minutes on late-night TV

[Pre-Chorus]

I used to think that glamour and the fame

Was the only safe way out

If every brick house knew my name

I could finally let my hair down

[Chorus]

Cause if they let a girl like me on stage (Ooh)

I could finally be somebody

To somebody that I needed to see back in 2008 (Uh)

You and I will be alright
