About This Track

Ethereal and Playboi Carti trade boasts over a stripped-down beat that lets their voices dominate. The track circles obsessively around a single question: who has beef with them? It is less a song about conflict than a demonstration of indifference to it, each verse stacking claims of loyalty, spending power, and street credibility as casual proof of untouchability. Carti sets the template in his opening verse, moving between threats and braggadocio with the same breath. Ethereal answers in kind, matching his cadence and his logic: those who sleep on him cannot steal from him. The production stays minimal throughout, which means everything lands on the vocal performance and the sheer repetition of the hook. By the final chorus, the question has become less interrogative and more declarative, a statement of fact delivered with the confidence of someone who already knows the answer.

"Beef" is a single by Ethereal, released 11th September 2015. Full lyrics are available below.
