How Madonna’s ‘Confessions II’ visuals make the dancefloor an escape route

About This Track
'Normal' finds Feid nursing the aftermath of an unequal relationship. He catalogs the imbalance with precision: he gave everything whilst she gave half, he slept beside her whilst she slept elsewhere. The song dwells in that particular ache of wanting to forget someone you cannot stop dreaming about, and the difficulty of forgiving what was done. The chorus settles into a posture of wounded defiance. It is natural, he reasons, that she feels lonely now and his name escapes her lips unbidden; it is difficult to imagine her crying for him in another's bed. He moves on visibly, performs recovery, whilst she haunts the clubs on weekends hoping to cross his path again. The song's title becomes its argument: all of this is simply what follows when you lose someone worth keeping.
"Normal" is a track by Feid, from the album FELIZ CUMPLEAÑOS FERXXO TE PIRATEAMOS EL ÁLBUM, released 7th July 2022. Full lyrics are available below. Dork has published 1 article about Feid.
