About This Track

A sample of 'deep end' went viral on TikTok in 2020, vaulting the New Jersey singer-songwriter into wider attention. The vocals were lifted for a Sleepy Hallow track before Fousheé released her own extended version on her debut album 'time machine'. Recorded at home, the track builds a full song around the hopscotching chorus, layering a wobbling beat and a trembling guitar line beneath her delivery. The lyric adopts a posture of restrained defiance. Fousheé warns against provocation whilst cataloguing slights and the effort required to keep composure. She flips grievance into fuel, reclaiming insults as credentials, and the refrain circles back to the same taut warning. The verses sketch a self-made trajectory, the tone matter-of-fact about ambition and the cost of underestimation. The production stays minimal, leaving space for the vocal to carry the tension.
