Frank Ocean has pulled out of Primavera Sound
It's those "production delays" to blame again.
About This Track
The eleventh track from Frank Ocean's debut studio album 'channel ORANGE', 'Lost' follows a drug supplier who uses his girlfriend as a mule, the itinerary of cities in the chorus charting her routes across continents. Ocean sings of triple weight and cooking dope, the domestic imagery turned sinister, whilst promising she'll one day be 'whipping meals up for a family of her own'. The lyric toggles between devotion and exploitation, the protagonist's affection inseparable from the work he's got her doing.
Produced by Malay, the track combines pop hooks with old-school Motown vibes, dialogue samples from Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas threaded through the verses. Released as the fourth single from 'channel ORANGE', it layers a bright, almost breezy arrangement over a narrative of complicity and risk, the heat and thrill of the title less escape than entrapment.
"Lost" is a track by Frank Ocean, from the album channel ORANGE, released 9th July 2012. The track is 3:54 long. It's filed under Pop. Full lyrics are available below. Dork has published 20 articles about Frank Ocean.
