About This Track

'Python' finds GOT7 wrestling with obsession and fame's hollow comfort. The track opens on a lover's grip that tightens like the creature of its title, the narrator caught between his status as an icon and his inability to move on. He admits the contradiction plainly: all the wealth and attention amount to nothing when the lights go off and she is gone. The production sits somewhere between swagger and vulnerability, the group's voices layered across a beat that pulses with restless energy. What emerges is a song about the cost of ambition. The narrator tours the world, sells out venues, accumulates money and accolades, yet finds himself bleeding out, unable to shake the one person who mattered. He knows he should move on. He cannot. The lyrics toggle between boasting and confession, between the persona of the icon and the man beneath it, each verse peeling back another layer of the contradiction until what remains is simple: he does not want to let her go, no matter what he has become.
