About This Track

'Everything' by Holding Absence is a 2018 track from the album 'This Is As One - EP'. The lyrics are soaked in longing and self-reckoning, with the singer reaching for love while insisting they have “Love changed everything” and still feeling emotionally hollow. There is a persistence in the images, hands and feet moving as the speaker waits for something to be true, but the chorus pivots towards exhaustion, ending with a sense that devotion has met its limit. The result is a direct, confessional statement about love’s impact and its letdown, rendered in plainly physical metaphors.
