About This Track
A love song built around slow-motion devotion and the idea of escape, 'Fallen' opens Jaden's debut album with references to bell hooks and a litany of small, precise images: tulips growing, cuticles cut, lasers trained on a UFO. The track covers his relationship with actress Odessa Adlon, framing romance as a refuge from a generation raised on dopamine and sofas. Jaden raps about levitation and Hennessy, about wanting to build a city overseas because this country feels cold. The third verse pivots. A brother shot for stepping on the wrong curb; the question of whether love is too strong a word when the world keeps moving like that. Jaden answers himself by leaning in, promising to be a songbird, insisting that forward motion requires lots of loving. The outro drops into the SYRE character, a half-remembered question about the difference between future and past, Batman and Lex Luthor drag-racing in a Jaguar under stars.
"Fallen" is a track by Jaden, from the album SYRE, released 4th December 2016. Full lyrics are available below.
