About This Track

'Sharpness' is a 2015 alternative track by Jamie Woon, from the album 'Making Time'. The lyrics look at surrender and longing, with a speaker insisting on a kind of lived intimacy, then turning to physical ache and the private retention of pain after someone leaves. There is a repeated sense of first-time intensity, as if the experience has no prior reference point, and the voice keeps circling the idea of what can only be known through feeling. One line sums up the state of urgency and attachment, “Never been so existent”.

"Sharpness" is a single by Jamie Woon, from the album Making Time, released 30th October 2015. The track is 3:27 long. It's filed under Alternative. Full lyrics are available below. Dork has published 2 articles about Jamie Woon.

Lyrics

Sharpness

Never been so inside
When I give into you
Never been so existent
You can't know unless you feel it
Come back bodies aching
From the want and the waiting
I kept this pain when you're leaving
Never felt this before
Never felt this before
Is it written on my back
Take it back and then let it go (let it go)
Is it written on my back
Take it back and then let it go
Every day is the day that you saved me
Light into darkness cut on the sharpness of you
Never been so inside and falling into you
Never been so resistant
You can't fall unless you feel it
Come back bodies aching
From the want and the waiting
Coming down with a sickness
Stay under control
Steady under control
Is it written on my back
Take it back and then let it go (let it go)
Is it written on my back
Take it back and then let it go
Every day is the day that you saved me
Light into darkness cut on the sharpness of you
(I want to love you babe)
Come back bodies aching
From the want and the waiting
I kept this pain when you're leaving
Never felt this before
Never felt this before
Is it written on my back
Take it back and then let it go (let it go)
Is it written on my back
Take it back and then let it go
