Lyrics
[Intro: John Lennon] See, I - if we can get in a mood together over a couple of days or something, I'd really like to just do it like this, you know, and, uh, at most just put a few things on there I might have thought of over the last two years that I've been writing them. They're all the same, Phillip, so you can just take any of 'em. It should just sound like it does in the earphones, you know? Like the piano's very sharp and echoing, the bass is bassing, the drums are drumming. They're all very slow except for the fast ones. We'll try this one now, you can - so you can practice chords and everything, you know, just... The D one, now. So I'm just gonna go where me mood takes [Verse: John Lennon] People say we got it made Don't they know we're so afraid? Isolation [Verse: John Lennon] We're afraid to be alone Everybody got to have a home Isolation [Interlude: John Lennon] *Gibberish*. If we had a producer or something, he'd say "Carry on", you see. But we can't find that drunken junkie [Bridge: John Lennon] I don't expect you to understand After you've caused so much pain - you gits! But then again, you gits [Interlude: John Lennon, Klaus Voormann] Okay! It is very hard, isn't it? Yeah, but I like it when it's, um, kind of wild. It's only - if you were not like this... [Bridge: John Lennon] I don't expect you to understand After I've caused you so much pain But then again, you're not to blame You're just a human... [Verse: John Lennon] The sun will never disappear But the world may not have many years I-solation [Interlude: John Lennon, Yoko Ono] We'll go and hear what they're doing, should we, gang? Before we turn into Edmundo Ross and his Jazz Quartet! Ooh, we're afraid of everyone. It doesn't matter if you make a correct mistake See, the thing is his bass is very strong, good sound, but it sort of muffles the piano. So, could you play with a pick? No, no, let him play with his thumb, you see, 'cause it's good for mood Okay I'm playing the piano very quiet, you see Yes, we know that, but we'll try and fix it here, then Maybe you should isolate the bass more, you know? Put more things around it, if it's picking up on the piano track. Is that what it is? No, John, no [Verse: John Lennon] I-solation [Interlude: John Lennon, Yoko Ono, ?, Ringo Starr] That sounded pretty good for me. Hey, you guys in there! How did it- Yes, that sounded beautiful! There was just a little [?] on the piano, as usual It was just slightly out of time in that middle bit, John Was it? But overall it's sounding far better now Yeah, but I mean - yeah. What did you think, Yoko? You know the piano mistake and all that, but that's not... you know, the overall thing is really getting to be alright Okay. So that mark that one best so far. That's the only one I'm interested in so far, okay? So make sure it's clearly marked. 'Cause the only mistake was me, and I'm only human, a victim of the insane, you see? Okay, trying to get into the habit of trying to conduct it with my head Well, we're all with you, so it doesn't matter where you go... we're there, you know? Oh, they're dreadful these musicians, you know? See, it's getting the mood alright. It's getting sort of... shade. Don't you think? Think we might have passed your peak. Oh, let - we'll just go anyway, fuck that, you know? One, two, three, four. Sorry, I fucked it. One, two, three, four... [Bridge: John Lennon] I don't expect you to understand After I've caused so much pain But then again, you're not to blame Start again, keep goin'. One, two, three, four... I don't expect you to understand After I've caused so much pain But then again, you're not to blame You're just a human... [Interlude: John Lennon & ?] A ragtime blues! Lordy, how those... Take 24! Okay, is it me racing on the piano? Yeah. Okay. I'm strugglin' like mad to keep on the beat, I was! I think I'm just gonna forget about it [Verse: John Lennon] We're afraid to be alone Everybody got to have a home Isolation [Verse: John Lennon] Just a boy and a little girl Trying to change the whole wide world Isolation [Verse: John Lennon] The world is just a little down Everybody trying to put us down I-solation [Bridge: John Lennon] I don't expect you to understand After you've caused so much pain But then again, you're not to blame You're just a human, a victim of the insane [Verse: John Lennon] We're afraid of everyone Afraid of the sun Isolation [Verse: John Lennon] The sun will never disappear But the world may not have many years Isolation
