Lyrics

Close Encounters

You know the people who sit on the wall
Have to stand tall and make up their minds
I got the feeling you were ready to go
But I'm sorry you've fallen behind

I took my ride down to Mulholland Drive
Where the people were hanging around
I took my ride and I said my goodbyes
And I vanished without a sound

You're so inclined
To sit and whine
But I don't care for drugs

I can't explain why the aliens came
Took my picture and blew up my mind
You won't believe me if I told you the rest
But it wasn't a very good time

I took my ride through the heavenly skies
Over cities that sunk in the ground
I took my ride and I said my goodbyes
And I vanished without a sound

You're so inclined
To sit and whine
But I can't stand you now
