Down

[Chorus: Kavale]

I know it's hard don't let them take from us

I wonder what they see when they envision us

Tell me how we're free if they conditioned us

You gotta stay down so you get lifted up

You gotta stay down, don't take from us

I wonder what they see when they envision us

Tell me how we're free if they conditioned us

You gotta stay down so you get lifted up

You gotta stay down

[Verse 1: Kavale]

I'm tryna save the world but I need someone to come save me

See I made a promise to make it up out it but this what they made me

I'm trapped in a system that won't let me live it's driving me crazy

In 2020 my people are hanging and Brenda's got babies

I've been a victim to all my surroundings

Body is lifted but feels like I'm grounded

Head above water but feels like I'm drowning

Look to the sky my mind's feeling clouded

Black in a world where they label me violent

A cop kills a nigga then everything's silent (shh, black)

We don't wanna talk about it, but we got some bigger problems

What happened to him, they shot him

10 o'clock news we're watching

And every day we pray, pray, pray, pray

Somebody should explain, xplain, xplain, xplain

Tell me who the fuck gon' survive in Ameri to the K, K, K, A, wait..

But still we got a dream and it's been a process, man I feel exhausted

Want a house on the hill make me a promise

Be the voice of the people that feel lost in

The land of the free but ain't got options

All eyes on me cause they still watching

(They still watching, they still watching, they still watching)

[Chorus: Kavale]

I know it's hard don't let them take from us

I wonder what they see when they envision us

Tell me how we're free if they conditioned us

You gotta stay down so you get lifted up

You gotta stay down, don't take from us

I wonder what they see when they envision us

Tell me how we're free if they conditioned us

You gotta stay down so you get lifted up

You gotta stay down

[Verse 2: WESTSIDE BOOGIE]

Let me borrow your view as a favor

Cause I look at my city, you know we get faded

Cause all of the beauty's been tapered

And shit I've been slaving, and tree I've been hanging and ain't see the fruit of my labor

Guess I'll get the juice from 'em later

And due to the data

Nigga I know that my skin has been setting the tone

That's why they pull up I pull out my phone

I see you're blessed and ain't leave me alone

I find a blessing in making it home, that's what I know

Blert me just for smoking, if I'm loaded they unload it

Drop a pin straight to my celly tell me that they're 'round the corner

On a God that I believe in, swear my demons got me tweaking

Left my shordie for no reason, still ain't seen her since last weekend

Even when you're right or wrong man, love your niggas hug your niggas

Fuck this system, you got symptoms

Been conditioned (uhh), fix it (woah)

[Chorus: Kavale]

I know it's hard don't let them take from us

I wonder what they see when they envision us

Tell me how we're free if they conditioned us

You gotta stay down so you get lifted up

You gotta stay down, don't take from us

I wonder what they see when they envision us

Tell me how we're free if they conditioned us

You gotta stay down so you get lifted up

You gotta stay down

[Outro: Kavale]

Right now it just kind of feels like we're floating, just tryna keep our heads above water you know?

Living in a world where we're painted as criminals, and all sorts of other shit, it's crazy

Sometimes you just gotta look at yourself in the mirror and just be like...

(You got a decision to make, you got a decision to make)

Am I the one that can provoke, some sort of change or some sort of idea, that will spark the change in the world...
