About This Track

Norwegian producer Kygo teams with American singer Justin Jesso on a track built around the metaphor of celestial persistence. The song was written by Kygo, Jesso, Stuart Crichton and Jamie Hartman, with production shared between the three writers beyond Jesso's vocal contribution. Jesso's lyric adopts the voice of someone refusing to abandon a relationship even as the other party frames it as hopeless, beyond repair, a victim of human nature. The central image recurs in the pre-chorus: the narrator will still be here stargazing, still looking up for love, likening his constancy to stars that keep blazing even when the night is over. The chorus plea cycles through variations on the same urgent appeal, asking the other not to give up, not to fall, not to surrender for love's sake. The production pairs Kygo's signature tropical-house textures with Jesso's earnest delivery, the arrangement leaning into the song's optimistic insistence that hope and effort might yet salvage what feels meteoric and brief.
