About This Track

Laylow opens 'MEGATRON' with a declaration of purpose: to light the way for those living in darkness, to reignite a dying flame. The track moves between French and Verlan slang, its narrator positioning himself as someone operating outside convention, living by night like a star in the dark. There is a swagger here, but it sits uneasily alongside genuine uncertainty. He speaks of not knowing his limits, of wondering how it will all end. The refrain is simple and insistent: augmente la pression, increase the pressure. It becomes a mantra, a demand for intensity that mirrors the track's own restless energy. Laylow builds his case through boasts and provocations, naming himself as the hottest in France, the man of the year, yet the bravado fractures. He acknowledges the weight of where he comes from, the minefield of being the son of immigrants, and admits he is not sure they will find peace. 'MEGATRON' is an introduction to the album that announces arrival without quite believing in it, a track caught between assertion and doubt.
