About This Track

Lloyd's first project in almost five years arrives as a five-track statement of resilience and self-reckoning. The title track frames a return shaped by absence and upheaval: lawsuits, family responsibility, personal loss. The singer addresses his audience directly, acknowledging the gap and the reasons he stepped back from the industry after 2011's 'King of Hearts'.

The lyrics map the cost of that retreat. Lloyd credits helping raise his sister's child, mourning the child he lost, supporting his mother whilst navigating legal entanglements he was advised not to discuss publicly. The chorus plea for acceptance runs through the track, a refrain built on vulnerability rather than bravado.

Released in late 2016, the EP preceded a full-length expansion in 2018. The project marks a pivot: not a comeback engineered for commercial momentum, but a reckoning with what survival outside the spotlight demanded.
