About This Track

'Breaking Robot' by Loreen is a dance track from the album 'Heal' (2012). The lyrics sound like a clean break, with the speaker insisting they are done, asking for space, and calling for release. There is a bleak turn too, as the words move from regret into self-destruction, with the refrain-like idea that repeated trying only intensifies the hurt. The closing movement doubles down on dishonesty and tears, framing the relationship as a loop that leaves everyone drowning, even when they keep repeating the same promises. One line sums up the mood: “let me be”.

"Breaking Robot" is a track by Loreen, from the album Heal, released 21st October 2012. The track is 3:28 long. It's filed under Dance. Full lyrics are available below.

Lyrics

Breaking Robot

Baby, you know that I, I told you that I'm done with you
There's no need to cry, tears only drown you slowly
Baby, you know that I, I told you a million times to let me be
Baby, you know 'cause I, I told you to set me free

The more I try, the more I die
The more we lie, the more we cry

(So why are we staying, staying, staying?)
(Why are we staying, staying, staying?)
(Why are we staying, staying, staying?)
(Paving the way to your heart)
(But we're always gonna break it)

Take me away from here, this madness is too much for me
Was always certainty, I told you to set me free

The more I try, the more I die
The more we lie, the more we cry

(So why are we staying, staying, staying?)
(Why are we staying, staying, staying?)
(Why are we staying, staying, staying?)
(Paving the way to your heart)
(But we're always gonna break it)

When it's all said and done
And the heart has just turned cold
It's all said and done
When the love has turned to stone
It's all said and done
'Cause we just can't love no more
'Cause the more we lie, the more we cry
We cry, we cry, we cry, we cry

The more I try, the more I die
The more we lie, the more we cry

(So why are we staying, staying, staying?)
(Why are we staying, staying, staying?)
(Why are we staying, staying, staying?)
(Paving the way to your heart)
(But we're always gonna break it)
