A collaboration between Maluma and French Montana from the 2017 EP 'X (The Film)', 'GPS' builds its conceit around navigational certainty. The title becomes a metaphor for physical familiarity, the chorus insisting that no satellite guidance is needed to find the object of desire. Maluma frames the encounter as explicitly transactional rather than romantic, the refrain clarifying intent with a time limit attached. The production, handled by Ily Wonder and Rudeboyz, keeps the tempo measured whilst Maluma layers aquatic imagery across the first verse, swimming, floating, navigating waters, before French Montana's verse shifts the geography to a crib with no navigation, invoking probation and visitation in a looser, more conversational flow. The song toggles between Spanish and English without translation, assuming bilingual fluency in its audience. Lyrically, it leans into explicitness, the pre-chorus requesting a motivating photo, the second verse referencing handcuffs and Valentine's Day requests that swap roses for something sharper.
