About This Track

'askim' finds Mavi wrestling with the impossibility of a future with someone he cannot trust. The track moves between longing and resignation, its Turkish lyrics painting a portrait of attraction tangled up with doubt. He cannot introduce her to his friends, cannot imagine infinity with her, cannot stop the wanting even as he knows it will end badly. The refrain circles back like a compulsion: "future love", but the conditions keep collapsing. Across two verses, Mavi shifts between tenderness and frustration. He describes her physical presence as magnetic and dangerous in equal measure, a trap he cannot help but approach. Alongside this, there's a restlessness that pulls him elsewhere: references to travel, to money, to the nightlife of multiple cities suggest a man trying to outrun something. The production, handled by Yagz, sits minimal and trap-inflected beneath the vocals, letting the emotional friction carry the track.
