About This Track

'Psywar' by Mayhem is a 2014 metal track from the album 'Esoteric Warfare'. The lyrics frame a grim, hostile experiment of dehumanisation and coercion, with imagery of terrorising and irradiation, plus a repeated return to psychological warfare, as if the battlefield is internal. It is also soaked in a brittle, apocalyptic insistence on rebirth and escalation, even as it moves from torture and submission towards disintegration and suicide. The vocal character and pacing match the text’s escalating threats, culminating in a claim that the “battlefield is our minds”.

"Psywar" is a single by Mayhem, from the album Esoteric Warfare, released 5th June 2014. The track is 3:25 long. It's filed under Metal. Full lyrics are available below.

Lyrics

Psywar

Human lab rats terrorized
Altared personas triggered
Stalked individuals irradiated
Torture, submission a detour to suicide
Disassociation subhumanization
Born behind enemy lines
The battlefield is our minds
Phoenix from the ashes of failure
Velon bloodprime your souls undermine
Symbols burned inside
Psywar - pull the trigger
Psywar - kill the target no future
Lost forever psywar
End of torment
