NOTHING, NOWHERE. is looking back to his roots for an evolution in sound.
About This Track
nothing nowhere captures the aftermath of romantic failure with unflinching self-recrimination. The song opens on a specific wound: breaking someone's heart on their birthday, then spirals into the speaker's inability to face what he's done. He's trapped in a loop of avoidance and self-loathing, unable to apologise, convinced he ruins everything he touches. The track builds around a simple melodic motif, repeated and varied, that mirrors the obsessive quality of regret. Lyrically, nothing nowhere moves between concrete domestic imagery (crying in a garage, driving past an old house) and more abstract psychological states: vertigo, anxiety spreading through his limbs, thoughts visible on the ceiling at night. The refrain crystallises his self-assessment into a single phrase: all he'll ever be is a letdown. It's a song about the weight of disappointing someone you care about, and the paralysis that follows.
