'Home' by Pavement is a 1993 alternative track from the album 'Westing (By Musket And Sextant)'. The lyrics move between a plea for help and a more coercive, invasive image, with lines that ask for control, touch, and manipulation, then turn toward a strained, uncertain optimism. The voice keeps circling the idea of relying on others, framed as both salvation and interference, with details that feel unsettlingly intimate. One moment suggests it cannot be done alone, and the next looks past the surface to find trouble underneath, with the speaker seemingly hovering on the edge of wanting escape.
