About This Track

Petit Biscuit and Lido craft a love song that moves between intimacy and wonder. The track opens with small gestures, a 3 AM text, earl grey poured into a solo cup, the casual certainty of someone who knows how to move. The narrator finds himself caught between admiration and disbelief, watching her silhouette against the sunrise and asking why she wanted to be around him in the first place. Her answer is confidence itself: she has been providing earthquakes since he was satisfied with first base. The chorus strips away specificity for something more abstract. She likes shark print and dark tints; she moves with the machine, plays the game to change it. These details accumulate into a portrait of someone self-possessed, someone the narrator describes as everything he needs. The song holds that tension between the particular and the universal, between the things that make her her and the feeling that overtakes him. By the final repetition, 'This is love' becomes less declaration than realisation, something he is made with rather than something he chooses.
