About This Track

PLK stakes his claim with unvarnished directness. 'Polak' is a statement of intent, built on the refrain's repeated assertion: a young man from the streets, unbothered by pretence or false fellowship. The track moves between defiance and precision, calling out phoniness in the rap world whilst anchoring every boast to lived experience rather than invention. There is no mythology here, PLK insists; everything he says comes from the block. The production sits spare and purposeful behind his delivery. Lyrically, he moves through accusations of betrayal and opportunism, naming those who disappeared before success arrived and reappeared once it did. Against this, he positions his own adaptability and hunger: a rapper who can shift his flow to match any production, who spent summers in the studio, who demands only that the records sell and the discs drop, platinum or diamond. 'Polak' is less a song than a contract, written in the first person and signed in conviction.
