About This Track

A five-piece ballad about absence and need, 'Gone 2 Long' finds PRETTYMUCH caught between resignation and pleading. The song opens with Brandon's warning not to surrender your heart too easily, then spirals inward through verses where Nick admits to lying awake, unable to reconcile what he sees in the mirror with what he feels. The arrangement stays restrained, letting the vocals carry the emotional weight as the group cycles through the central request: a promise that absence won't become permanent. The song's tension lies in its contradiction. PRETTYMUCH sing of phone calls and video chats that have worn thin, of time that refuses to align, yet the chorus insists on a need so absolute it borders on desperation. There's no resolution offered, only the repeated plea that their love won't disappear into somewhere else. It's a song about the fragility of long-distance connection, where good intentions collide with the slow erosion of presence.
