About This Track
Rammstein's 'Benzin' strips away the language of addiction and dependency to rebuild it as pure fuel. Where others name heroin, alcohol, cocaine, the band substitutes explosives, kerosene, high-octane petrol. The substitution is not metaphor; it is literalism. Till Lindemann sings that gasoline flows through his veins, sleeps in his tears, runs from his ears. Heart and kidneys become motors. The song moves from refusal (I need no friend, no doctor, no medicine) to confession (give me petrol) to instruction, almost incantation: if you want to be rid of something, burn it. The track builds its power through repetition and escalation. The chorus "Gib mir Benzin" becomes a chant, vocal and percussion locked into the rhythm of an engine turning over, a blaze roaring. Industrial metal rendered as mechanical appetite. 'Benzin' was the first single from the album Rosenrot and opens the record as a statement of purpose: Rammstein at their most direct, turning the vocabulary of self-destruction into the vocabulary of combustion.
"Benzin" is a single by Rammstein, from the album Rosenrot, released 26th October 2005. The track is 3:46 long. It's filed under Metal. Full lyrics are available below. Dork has published 1 article about Rammstein.
