Lyrics

Commando

[Intro]

(One, two, three, four)

[Verse]

They do their best, do what they can

To get them ready for Vietnam

From old Hanoi to East Berlin

Commando, involved again

They do their best, do what they can

To get them ready for Vietnam

[Chorus]

First rule is

The laws of Germany

Second rule is

Be nice to mommy

Third rule is

Don't talk to commies

Fourth rule is

Eat kosher salamis

[Verse]

They do their best, do what they can

To get them ready for Vietnam

From old Hanoi to East Berlin

Commando, involved again

They do their best, do what they can

To get them ready for Vietnam

[Chorus]

First rule is

The laws of Germany

Second rule is

Be nice to Mommy

Third rule is

Don't talk to commies

Fourth rule is

Eat kosher salamis

How Sleigh Bells turn pop and heavy music into their own songwriting language

From Cyndi Lauper and Madonna to Deftones, the Cars, Ramones and Shangri-Las, Derek Miller and Alexis Krauss have described influences as practical writing tools rather than a checklist of sounds to borrow.
