About This Track

'Float' by Samm Henshaw is an R&B/Soul song from the album 'It Could Be Worse', released in 2026. Its lyrics find a narrator trapped in repetition, looking for love in the wrong places and wondering how they could be so blind. There is a bruised sense of hindsight, too, with memories of a love that once felt perfect but may be slipping away. The voice keeps returning to the moment when love was declared, asking if it was real, and whether things can be turned back, even briefly, with lines like “Here we go again”.

"Float" is a track by Samm Henshaw, from the album It Could Be Worse, released 19th January 2026. The track is 2:58 long. It's filed under R&B/Soul. Full lyrics are available below. Dork has published 1 article about Samm Henshaw.

Lyrics

Float

Here we go again
Search for love in the wrong places
How can I be so blind?
I had you at your best
Like the beauty of our sunset
Never know when it's bound to end

(Can we turn back the time)
(Treasuring back the night?)
When you said that you loved me
Babe, did you mean that always?
(Can we turn back the time)
(Treasuring back the night?)

Don't let me float, darlin'
The world looks so much better with you
Don't let me float, darlin'
There's so much more that we said we'd do, oh, ah
Don't let me float
Don't let me float
(Float without you)

Don't you ever tell me this ain't love
I'd still be there on the worst nights
Prayin' the wind blows me by your side
By your side
Do you ever think we didn't try enough?
Words that I don't wanna live by
I'd like to think we've got endless skies
Tell me why

(Can we turn back the time) could we turn it, baby?
(Treasuring back the night?) Oh
When you said that me you loved me
Babe, did you mean that always (always)
Always (always), always, always (always)?

Don't let me float, darlin'
The world looks so much better with you
Don't let me float, darlin'
There's so much more that we said we'd do
Don't let me float
Don't let me float
(Float without you)
