About This Track

‘Strong’ is a 2020 alternative track by SAULT, taken from the album ‘Untitled (Rise)’. The lyrics repeat a defiant insistence on fearlessness, then pivot to emotional strain, with the pain kept “on the inside”. There is a shared, collective perspective, moving from inner hurt to a sense of long-running striving, and ending with a reference to Africa. The writing balances uplift and vulnerability without fully resolving the tension between the two, giving the song a determined, searching mood.

"Strong" is a track by SAULT, from the album Untitled (Rise), released 17th September 2020. The track is 6:19 long. It's filed under Alternative. Full lyrics are available below. Dork has published 4 articles about SAULT.

Lyrics

Strong

'Cause we are fearless
'Cause we are fearless

Hard to smile, I know you're feeling
And it hurts on the inside, hope
'Cause we are fearless
'Cause we are fearless
'Cause we are fearless

All our lives (All our lives)
Simply feels like we've been trying to go back (Go back)
To Africa

I don't really wanna feel I'm
I don't really wanna feel I'm 'bout to cry
I don't really wanna feel I'm
I don't really wanna feel I'm 'bout to cry
I don't really wanna feel I'm
I don't really wanna feel I'm 'bout to cry
I don't really wanna feel I'm
I don't rеally wanna feel I'm 'bout to cry

I don't really wanna feel I'm
I don't really wanna feel I'm 'bout to cry
I don't really wanna feel I'm
I don't rеally wanna feel I'm 'bout to cry
I don't really wanna feel I'm
I don't really wanna feel I'm 'bout to cry
I don't really wanna feel I'm
I don't really wanna feel I'm 'bout to cry
I don't really wanna feel I'm
I don't really wanna feel I'm 'bout to cry

Just live your life, don't ever stop for nothing
You know, you, you can do anything you want to
Be yourself at all times, don't be afraid of nothing, nobody
Be fearless
It is all in your mind, your mind, your mind.
