What I Always Wanted

Now I'm failing to come down
... What I always wanted.
I always went in the lake and now I sit the shore
I notice the time, the place, the booze, the heat, the score...
I sleep when the sun goes down, might rise on it's return
I think about everything and nothing's what I learn
I wanted to pray alone I name you in this prayer
I wanted this day alone I blame you in this prayer
The gift that I'm choosing is a gift for changing light
Who cares if this day proceeds through wrongness or through right
Whatever was in the lake will wash up on the shore
I found all the days I lost and never lose no more
I sleep... o.k., there's time for this.
