Lay her down,
Pale as the autumn moon
Light the candles
In the upstairs room
Where she walked
In a night blacker than bombazine
Remember her.. only as she was

Were the spectral groom
And she the bride
Beside the tomb

Where the fingers
Of the winter trees touch the sun
